No not mine! But lucky for you my husband and I and a few friends were able to attend a FABULOUS burlesque show this past weekend and I have the pictures to prove it. Do you wanna see? Of course you do.
I really do love burlesque and it's wonderful history. I'm lucky enough to have inherited an autographed photo of the late great Sally Rand. One of burlesque's greatest performers she is said to have originated the "fan dance" and made it a hit. She would also perform with giant balloons doing the "bubble dance."
My own autographed Sally Rand photo. I'm guessing that this was taken in the late 1920's early 1930's |
So you are probably wondering what this has to do with crochet aren't you? If you are feeling a little saucy why don't you crochet you're very own pasties. Just find a cute motif pattern. For mine I used a simple heart pattern with black and red #10 size crochet thread. For the center I put a drop of hot glue and glittered generously.
So how do you get them to stick on the boobies? Easy. Eyelash adhesive works great.
Get creative use flower and leaf motifs. Crochet a couple breast cancer awareness ribbons. Just about anything would look cute. Have a good time and dress up the girls. They deserve a night out.
Awesomeness Kara! I,too, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Burlesque! Too bad there aren't many great clubs around. I didn't know you had that picture! I'm so jealous!
ReplyDeleteLove you!
I bet that keeps the nips nice and toasty-warm, too. Like nip mittens.
